The curriculum moves from the theoretical importance of financial management to the practical application of reporting, reconciliation, and documentation. It is grounded in a specific funding chain:
Global Affairs Canada (GAC)
Ultimate Recipient
Women’s Rights Organization (WRO)
Community-Based Organization (CBO).
 
The goal is to equip sub-grantees with the skills to demonstrate accountability and maintain credible financial records.

What Will You Learn?

  • By the end of this module, learners will be able to:
  • Explain what financial reporting requires of a sub-grantee, and why each report matters beyond compliance.
  • Perform and interpret the four key types of financial reconciliation.
  • Identify discrepancies in financial records and take appropriate corrective action.
  • Maintain adequate supporting documentation, and apply compensating controls when standard documents are genuinely unavailable.
  • Recognize the indicators of audit readiness and the most common audit findings, before they happen.
  • Work through a pre-submission review checklist with confidence, not last-minute panic
